Graduation is as much for you as it is for your child.
It is the beginning of your child’s chance to share about the experience they had at camp.
Dear Parents and Campers,
Welcome to our 17th annual Blessed Children’s Summer Camp. Directions to Geneva Point Center can be found here. It is just a little over an hour north of Concord, NH. Once there, just follow the signs for Camp Aurora!. Registration will be in Geneva Woods on Sunday June 27th for High School between 9:00 and 10:00 am and on Tuesday June 29th in the Chapel between 2 and 4pm for Middle School and Youth. Campers should not arrive before 2 pm on the 29th because Geneva Point staff will not be ready to receive us until then. Registration closes at 4 pm. During registration the Geneva Point nurse will check your child’s health form, she will also check for strep throat and head lice. Please make sure you’ve submitted your child’s health form. She will collect all prescription and non-prescription drugs. Prescription Drugs must be in their original container as given to you by the pharmacist!! Please put all medications in a clear Ziploc bag with the camper’s name and instructions clearly visible. A registered nurse will be on site 24 hours a day. It is essential that all campers arrive on time for registration. Camp starts right away with dinner at 5:15.
Go HERE for a printable packet that includes a packing list of everything campers will need to bring with them and a "Living for the Sake of Others" commitment form that must be signed by the parent and the camper. Please use the packing list. It includes things you need to bring as well as things not to bring. It is difficult for both the camper and staff when children arrive without sleeping bags or adequate clothing. It is also important to label your child’s clothes and belongings. We usually have a full bag of miscellaneous, lost clothes at the end of camp and we never know who to return them to! All High School Campers should bring their Divine Principle book along with everything on the packing list.
The food at Geneva Point is great and lots of it! Meals are buffet style and include a wide variety of foods and beverages. There is always more than one main course providing campers a choice. We have requested rice and soy sauce! The variety should accommodate any special dietary needs. However, if you feel your child will require a special diet please call Marjorie Buessing right away. We will offer some snacks between meals. Additional snacks are unnecessary as the food is plentiful, but if campers wish, they may bring their own snacks to keep in their cabin. These MUST be placed in a chipmunk proof container!
Geneva Point has an Ice Cream Store and gift shop and proceeds support foreign missions. They are open twice a day for a limited time period. The children will have an opportunity to buy something if they so choose. We suggest bringing $1 or $2 a day for ice cream, post cards or a small gift. Please do not bring more than $20 as we cannot be responsible for valuables.
PLEASE JOIN US. Graduation is at 9:30 on Saturday morning July 3rd. Our camp graduation is as much for you as it is for your child. It is the beginning of your child’s chance to share about their experience. We hope to have a slide show of the entire week for you and all the campers to enjoy. You are also welcome to spend the morning with your child. You can start with breakfast (8am cost is $6), then go to their cabin, meet their friends and group leader and help them pack before graduation begins. Graduation will be on schedule, arriving in a timely fashion will ensure you won’t miss it. It is also essential that we leave punctually after graduations is over as another group is arriving later on that day. Please be on time for both arrival and departure.
If you need to contact your child or a staff person during camp please call GPC at (603) 253 4366. Unless it is an emergency they will pass along the message at the next meal break.
We are very inspired about Camp Aurora and are anticipating the wonderful experiences the children will carry home with them. We would appreciate your prayers for the camp and hope you can take a few minutes each day to pray for the children to deeply experience God and grow in their understanding of the Divine Principle. We want to surround the children in prayer so that they can have a happy and safe experience.
Thank you.
